During February 2019, I created a Folow Cam in Unity.
The purpose of this type of camera is to allow more freedom for the player, allowing them to change the angle of the camera in 45 degrees intervals to suit whatever the situation.
The transition of the camera is smooth but fast, allowing the player to get the angle they want without it being sudden and disorientating.
It is designed to work with games that offer a more birdseye view of the gameplay, which would work well as changing the angle of the camera could work well in locating secrets or looking further ahead into the level to prepare for what is coming.
